My family + I just took a little trip to the beach for a couple of days. It was one of the best, most relaxing, fun trips I think we’ve ever taken.
Awe… I dream of being back there.
My brother, sister-in-law, and my 3 ADORABLE nieces came for a visit. I have lots of images I’m excited to post, but for now, here’s a little peek at the cousins…
Sasha, the youngest, is going through the cutest stage… She loves to roar like a lion! So we had all the cousins give us their best roar.
Several months ago, I ran into a dear friend of mine. She told me about a family in South Carolina wanting to adopt a baby here in my area. She said that the family needed a place to stay during the time of adoption. I quickly offered our house to them.
Jeff and I were both very excited about having this family come stay with us. I remember getting all giddy inside, thinking about being a witness to this special adoption. We were told that the family would need to stay with us until they had paperwork allowing them to leave the state with the baby, which could take about 7 days. We weren’t sure when the baby was due, so we excitedly waited for their phone call for about 6 weeks. Finally, we got the call! They were driving up to NC because their baby had been born!
At the time of the call, Thomas was home on a visit from Greenville, SC and my mom also happened to be visiting us for a week from Washington State. Coming up from South Carolina, we had Chris, Shelley, their 3 children and 2 sets of grandparents. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Our kids played so well with their kids, + we had wonderful talks with the adults. I feel so blessed to know this dear, sweet family!
Here is a video their church made of Chris + Shelley…

And here are some images during their stay with us…
Chris + Shelley, we absolutely adore your family! Your visit felt so right. It was as if we had been friends for years. We are beyond excited for Baby Silas to have such a LOVING family + for you to be blessed with such a SWEET, SWEET baby boy! He is ADORABLE!!! May the Lord continue to bless your family. And please know, you are welcome here ANY time!!! The kids all keep asking about you + telling wonderfully fun stories of when you were here. We’re looking forward to a reunion!
It’s always very special when we get to spend time with Grammy (my mom). Given that we’re living near 2 different oceans, it’s difficult to see each other very often.
The kids all adore her! Grammy + Winston…

As we sat outside at one of our FAVORITE restaurants in the Village, The Darling House, + ate our FAVORITE haddock fish-n-chips, Thomas rode up on his bike. He’s been in town for a few weeks + it’s been WONDERFUL to have him home for awhile. Grammy + Thomas enjoyed doing a lot of cooking together this trip. I wish I had taken photos of their creations.

She even had time for some late night arm wrestling with Cooper.

Mom, it was such a blessing having you come for a visit! We love you bunches + miss you already!!!
I LOVE getting requests for Tina Time Mentoring Sessions! I get to spend an 8 hour day, just one-on-one with someone, talking about one of my FAVORITE things… photography! I get to meet someone who also has a passion for creating beautiful images. I get to teach them + see those light-bulb moments when things start ‘clicking’ for them. I get to plan two photo shoots for us to do together to help them put all that they are learning into practice. And on top of that, I get to have a lasting friendship.
The ladies I’ve mentored over the years are all VERY DEAR to me!!!
That’s why….. I’m planning a BEACH TRIP for this summer + ALL of my previously mentored ladies and their families are invited! Because how great would that be???!!! Spending time together, sharing new ideas + photographing each others families at the beach! I’m SO EXCITED about that!!! (It’s not too late to sign up for a Tina Time Mentoring Session + get an invite to the beach trip, as well!)
Earlier this week, I had a Tina Time Mentoring Session with Lindsey. It was so wonderful working with her!!! Lindsey expressed an interest in photographing families, as well as high school seniors. So, when I set up our 2 shoots for the day, I kept that in mind!
I think it’s always good to learn how to photograph indoors, so our first shoot was an indoor, lifestyle shoot of an adorable momma + her girl. Here are some of the images that I took during our shoot together….

Lindsey has been posting her photos from our day together on facebook and her photos look fantastic!!! I’m one proud photography momma!
And Lindsey said that, just after posting her images, she has already been getting calls from people wanting to book photo shoots because of the photos she posted! I LOVE to hear that!!!
THANKS to Hallie + Reagan for letting us photograph you having fun in the kitchen! You were FABULOUS models + you made some GREAT cookies, too!
And THANKS to Ally for assisting me on this shoot! You’re SO FUN to work with!!!
PART 2: Photos from my second shoot with Lindsey will be posted soon!
Winston. We have a lot of names for him. Win. Winstie. The Winstonator. Sweetie. Cute Stuff. ….you know. But the name we seem to call him the most is Big Win.
This was Big Win’s first year playing football. He played for the Pirates + loved it. Jeff + I were crazy-busy these last few months, moving +remodeling a kitchen, just to name a few. And in all our busyness, we couldn’t get him to all his practices (Mostly we just forgot about them. Agh!) + I certainly wasn’t getting my camera out. So… on the morning just before his final game of the season, as we headed out to the car, I took a few shots of my WONDERFUL Big Win…

He just recently turned 10. This was the perfect jersey.

I wish I had photographed more this season, but I didn’t. So here are a few images from the Pirates’ last game… the championship game against the undefeated Mountaineers.

Big Win is near the middle, with the black socks on…

Even though the Pirates lost the championship, he’ll always be our “Big Win.”
CONGRATULATIONS to Winstie + ALL the Pirates for a fabulous season! And a HUGE THANK YOU to all the coaches of the Pirates. Here’s Win with head coach, Coach Ray Bear. Thanks Coach!
