Jack + Wendy’s Lovely Wedding.

I was delighted to get to photograph Jack + Wendy’s very small, intimate wedding.  When I first talked to Wendy over the phone, I knew this was a wedding I wanted to be a part of.  Wendy + Jack were surrounded by their sweet family + amazing friends.  It was such an honor to be there.  Here are a few of their images…

Wendy + Jack, THANK YOU for letting me be a part of your very special day!

Fancie Strands.

This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing for FancieStrands…  romantic & vintage inspired head pieces, hair clips, headbands and accessories for bridal and special occasions, and ALL handmade!  (You can see photos from my first shoot with FancieStrands HERE.)

Deidre, owner of Hairplay Salon in Southern Pines, and Rosa made my models’ look extra fabulous.  Deidre + Rosa, I ADORE working with you!!!   :)

On the day of the shoot, it was a chilly 35 degrees.  We even had SNOW on the ground (something that rarely happens in Pinehurst, NC).  So for most of the shoot, we stayed warm inside.  But even when we headed out in the cold, our models, Michela + Apryl, were so fantastic!  THANKS girls!  You were SO WONDERFUL to work with!

HUGE THANKS to…

FancieStrands for creating such LOVELY accessories + allowing me to photograph them!

Deidre + Rosa at Hairplay Salon in Southern Pines for making my models’ hair looks so AMAZING!

Michela + Apryl for being such FAB models + such great troopers in the cold!  It was SO much fun working with both of you!

And THANKS to my lovely assistant for this shoot, Ally!  I ADORE you, girl!  (Oh, + after the shoot was over, I took some CUTE photos of Ally that I’ll hopefully be posting soon!)  :)

Marcus + Kate’s Wedding. Part 1.

I am SO BLESSED to have married into this AMAZING family!!!
My niece, Kate, just got married to Marcus, who we’ve known for years + we all adore him!

This wedding was different for me than most.  I was a GUEST.  Not the photographer, but a guest.  It was WONDERFUL!  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my job!  But there are times when I just want to LIVE life, rather than photograph it.  (You other photographers know what I mean.)   But as I strolled around, chatting with family + friends, I couldn’t help myself…  I found myself snapping a few shots here + there, making sure to not get in the way of the photographer-on-duty.   And of course, staying out of her way meant not taking photos of the bride + groom.  So what I ended up with was a handful of images of my FABULOUS family members + their ADORABLE children, but hardly any images of the wedding party, including Marcus + Kate.    But I’m sure their photographer, Elizabeth K, did a wonderful job.

Here are some of the images I took of my INCREDIBLY FUN family, along with shots of the BEAUTIFUL decor that Kate + my sister-in-law Beth worked so hard on…

One of my other nieces, Erica, has a son, Addison (left).  He is a HOOT!!!  This kid, in a split second, can come up with the most hilarious one-liners you’ve ever heard!  We’ve been home for a week now + I’m still busting up at his quotes in my head!  :)

Winston got some very cool glow-in-the-dark glasses at the reception…

Kate had NINE flower girls!  All ADORABLE!!!

Beth (right) is the mother of the bride + my sister-in-law.  She’s SUPER CREATIVE + she helped Kate with all of the decor for the wedding.  I think she ought to go into the party planning business!  And I’d join her, if she didn’t live so far away!

Just before the ceremony started, I looked back + saw my nephew’s son, Finnegan.  He’s such a CUTIE!

Marcus + Kate’s Wedding. Part 2.

Here are some more images of my WONDERFUL family at my niece’s wedding this past weekend in Michigan…  (To see images from PART 1, click HERE.)…

Winston wanted to purchase a special gift for ‘Cousin Kate’ with his own money.  He bought her a fun pair of earrings.  Here’s Kate after opening his gift…

I only took a few shots, from my chair, at the beginning + end of the ceremony…

And here’s Marcus (the HANDSOME groom!) with his family…

Marcus + Kate, CONGRATULATIONS on your marriage!!!  We love you both so much + we’re excited to see you walk this life together.  :)

To my family, you’re all such a HUGE BLESSING to me!!!  THANK YOU for all your wonderful love!  I am SO BLESSED to have married into this AMAZING family!!!  (Oh, + I’ll be sending you all a CD of images.)

Tina Time Mentoring Session. A Wedding for Kate.

A couple of days ago, I had a Tina Time Mentoring Session with Kate, who is already a great photographer.  :)   We spent the morning looking over her work, talking about lighting, positioning of subjects, + even headed into my office for some hands-on editing.  She’s mostly been photographing children, but would really like to start photographing weddings, as well.  So for our afternoon, I set up (with the help of MANY FABULOUS PEOPLE) a little “wedding” shoot for the two of us.  Be sure to check out Kate’s Blog!  She got some ahhh-mazingly fun shots!  Here are some of the photos that I took during our day together…

And hopefully, a “Behind the Scenes” video of our shoot will be coming soon!

Three Beautiful Dresses. One Beautiful Girl.

A few days ago, Lydia + I headed out to a friend’s home to take some photos of her in some wonderful vintage dresses.

I love this next one…

I realize I had Lydia be serious in the majority of all these photos, because that was the look I was going for, but really, Lydia has a gorgeous smile…

Lydia, I LOVED hanging out with you!  You are a SUPERB model!  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  You ROCKED this shoot!

And a HUGE THANK YOU to the wonderful Jill Gooding who let us borrow her FABULOUS dresses for this shoot.  THANK YOU Jill!

Brian + Evie. The Couple.

Back in January, I had the pleasure of photographing Brian + Evie for their engagement.  Click HERE to see those photos.

Brian + Evie are such a wonderful, fun couple, + it is ALWAYS a joy to get to spend time with them!  Their wedding was no exception!  Jodi Caddell (my AMAZING Wedding Assistant) + I photographed them on Friday night at their Rehearsal/Pig Roast, along with their family, + then again on Saturday for their big day.

One of the things I struggle with as a photographer is how to keep my blog posts to a minimum.  I really need to get better at choosing fewer photos to showcase on the blog, but it’s SO HARD for me!  Sure, Brian + Evie will get MANY photos, regardless of how many I show on the blog, but still….  I just can’t seem to keep my posts short.  So…  here are over 100 photos (just from their wedding day), spread out into 3 blog posts…

I adore Evie’s dress…

Brian + Evie chose to see each other prior to their ceremony to make it easier to get lots of fun photos of them together.  So Jodi + I photographed them having their “First Sight” of the day…

Be sure to scroll down to see Part 2 of Brian + Evie’s big day!

Brian + Evie. The Ceremony.

And oh how I love this next series of photos.  Brian + Evie, you are such a beautiful couple!
